Can I use the XTERMINATOR with fish in my pond?

YES! The XTERMINATOR utilises proven and tested technology and when used as directed is safe for use in all ponds containing fish and plants. Note. Invertebrates/ molluscs including snails, mussels etc are not compatible with the use of the XTERMINATOR.

The XTERMINATOR has been extensively trialled and used with superb results by Koi clubs, Koi keepers, pond owners and even aquatic plant growers to eradicate the blanketweed menace safely and effectively. Thousands of units have already been sold producing thousands of blanketweed free ponds.

How do I know the XTERMINATOR is safe to use in my pond?

The XTERMINATOR has been designed to raise the copper level of a garden pool to 0.3ppm, at this level the blanketweed is safely and effectively eradicated from the pond. A simple water quality test using the test strips provided with the XTERMINATOR will ensure that the water quality in the pond is ideal and healthy providing an optimum environment for the XTERMINATOR to work effectively.

The WHO ( World Health Organisation ) and the Drinking Water Standards Authority set an acceptable limit in household drinking water from the tap at 2.0ppm, so as you can clearly see the XTERMINATOR operating at 0.3ppm is at a limit well below the guideline acceptable level for household drinking water.

How long does the Sacrificial Copper Anode last?

One of the advantages of the XTERMINATOR is that it is NOT designed to operate 24hrs per day, 365 days per year. This means that the Sacrificial Copper Anode is used as and when required. Typically in a pond situation containing 2000 gallons / 9100lts using the XTERMINATOR XT15000 the floatation period is 9.1 days, this will represent the Sacrificial Copper Anode lasting approximately one full season.
Replacement Anodes are widely available and represent excellent value for money.

What maintenance is required?

The only maintenance needed is a periodic cleaning of the Stainless Steel Cathode and Copper Anode. Simple to remove, both items can be cleaned in a mild descaling solution or by using the special POWER-KLENZ tablets ( available direct or from your dealer ), that will gently and effectively remove the deposits that build up due to the mineralization process. Removal of these deposits will maximise the efficiency of the XTERMINATOR unit ensuring optimum performance is achieved and maintained.

Do I have to use other chemicals in my pond to eradicate the Blanketweed?

Over the past 5 years of research and development with the XTERMINATOR project hundreds of ponds have been treated with the XTERMINATOR unit, ponds that previously suffered badly with the blanketweed scourge and using all manner of treatments, all to no avail. We at Total Pond Solutions are proud to announce that all of these ponds are now blanketweed free with no further use of any other chemical treatments. Since its introduction in 2006 over 5000+ ponds have become blanketweed free after using the XTERMINATOR.
